"Verified" is recorded when the source record itself includes that flag.

Commercial activity is irrelevant
Applying, upgrading a listing, or contacting RankGlobal never changes a verification flag.

Kept for research, not visitor warnings
Verification flags stay on the record for research use. They are not shown as visitor-facing warnings on listings.
